Camp Nirvana or similar.

Visit the holy Temple at Yamunotri today. Cradled in a deep cleft in the lap of Bandarpunch at 3,300 meters, Yamunotri Temple is the least visited but the most beautiful of the four Dhams. The main shrine is part of the top spring worshipped as the source of River Yamuna, and houses a small silver image of  Goddess Yamuna. Due to heavy snows in the region, the Temple has to be completely rebuilt every few years. The fresh mountain air, running streams, scenic beauty, hot water springs, and enthusiastic devotees inspire a feeling of devotion and spirituality in the visitor.

Start early and drive to Hanuman Chatti (36 kms, 1.5 hours), a mountain village which acts as a transit point for the pilgrimage to Yamunotri. From there, you'll take a shared taxi to Janki Chatti (20 mins). This small hamlet is surrounded by mountains on all sides and is the starting point for your trek to Yamunotri. From the roadhead, a 5 kms trail to the Temple follows the turbulent ice-blue river as it runs below rocky crags, with snowy peaks in the distance. It's steep and narrow in parts, so the pace of the trek is slow - it usually takes around two to three hours to reach the Temple.

After darshan, trek back down to Janki Chatti and meet your driver to return to Barkot. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Barkot.

In the morning, depart for Uttarkashi (82 kms, 4 hours). The largest town in interior Garhwal, Uttarkashi occupies the flat and fertile valley floor of the River Bhagirathi. It's a convenient stop on the way to Gangotri.

Upon arrival at Uttarkashi, check in at the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the Bhagirathi. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Accommodation, 2 Nights

Sahaj Villa or similar.

Leave early in the morning, for an all-day tour to Gangotri (100 kms from Uttarkashi). Set amidst tall pine forests at the head of the Bhagirathi gorge, Gangotri is the most remote of the four Dhams and considered by Hindus to be the spiritual source of the River Ganges. The drive from Uttarkashi is breathtaking as it winds high above the Bhagirathi and crosses one of the world's highest bridges, over the gorge near Lanka.

Gangotri's unassuming Temple, overlooking the river, is one of India's holiest sites. Upon arrival, visit the Temple to offer prayers and receive darshan. Spend some time in peaceful meditation before driving back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Get an early start to your day and depart for Guptkashi (225 kms, 8 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Nestled within the Mandakini river valley in the scenic backdrop of the snow-covered peaks of Chaukhamba, Guptkashi is known for its ancient Vishwanath Temple dedicated to the god Shiva, which is similar to the one in Varanasi (Kashi).

In the evening, visit the Vishwanath Temple for worship. Spend time exploring the beautiful surroundings and experiencing in blissful aura of this holy place. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Accommodation, 1 Night

Hotel Madhuganga, Ukhimath or similar.

Visit the holy Temple at Kedarnath today. Located near the Chorabari glacier at a height of 3,584 meters, Kedarnath is one of the most sacred and spiritual places of pilgrimage in the Himalayas. It sits close to the source of River Mandakini overlooked by tumbling glaciers and giant buttresses of ice, snow and rock. The scenery is spectacular with lush alpine meadows, terraced hillsides, and abundant apple orchards. The impressive Shiva Temple was built by Adi Shankara in the ninth century and is considered to be the most important of the 12 Jyotirlingas located across India.

Depart from the hotel in the morning and drive a short distance to the helipad to board your helicopter to Kedarnath. After a quick flight (15 mins), disembark and walk to the Temple (500 meters). You will need to purchase a VIP darshan ticket at the temple to complete your darshan without much wait time. After darshan, walk back to the helipad and board the helicopter for your flight back.

Meet your driver after disembarking and return to the hotel to collect your luggage, before driving to Rudraprayag (34 kms, 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

In the morning, depart early for Badrinath (160 kms, 8 hours). Situated at a height of 3,100 meters on the banks of Alaknanda River and set against the backdrop of the imposing, snow-clad Neelkanth Peak, the area known as Badrikashram in Hindu scriptures has attracted many saints and sages over the centuries because of its powerful spiritual energy. It is widely believed that the Badrinath Temple was established in the 9th century by Adi Shankara after he found the temple's fossilized black stone idol of Lord Vishnu (in the form of Lord Badrinarayan) in the Alaknanda River. A scenic place with spectacular scenery, imposing Himalayan peaks, and sacred rivers, Badrinath makes the visitor spellbound with its unparalleled beauty.

En-route to Badrinath, stop at Joshimath, an important pilgrimage centre and the site of several ancient temples that attract hundreds of thousands of devotees annually. Visit the Narsingh Temple where the idol of Badrinath is brought down during winters and placed alongside the Narsingh idol.

Upon arrival at Badrinath, check in at the hotel. Make a quick visit to Mana village. This beautiful hamlet is located near the Badrinath Temple and 24 kms from the Tibetan border, making it the last village of India before entering Tibet.

In the evening, visit the famous Temple of Lord Badrinarayan. See the beautiful black stone idol depicting Lord Vishnu sitting in a meditative pose under a badri tree and canopy of pure gold. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Depart for Rishikesh (135 kms, 5 hours). En-route, visit Devprayag, the sacred spot where the two holy rivers, Alaknanda (originating in Badrinath) and Bhagirathi (originating in Gangotri) join to form the River Ganges.

Rishikesh is a magnet for spiritual seekers from all over the world. As the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, with masses of ashrams and all kinds of yoga and meditation classes, Rishikesh is a small town with an exquisite setting on the fast-flowing Ganges River, surrounded by forested hills. Its lanes and alleys retain an old-world charm with a distinctively peaceful, uplifting and international feel.
